Research Paper Metaphors :)

Ben's paper focuses on the negative effects of materialism, to illustrate this he could use the metaphor of a society where people continuously work to keep this massive machine running, they sacrifice everything to ensure that the machine keeps going, but the machine itself serves no purpose and eventually causes the people misery.

Why does our society create double standards when it comes to drugs?  This is one of the questions Luke focuses on in his research paper.  A metaphor for this dilemma could be an IB student who is told that grades are the most important things and so he cheats on an exam to ensure a better grade.  The parents of course know that cheating is bad, but the kid doesn't get caught, or else the teacher and parents turn a blind eye, and the student receives an 'A.'

A new species far superior to humans begins to populate the earth and capture and enslave humans for their meat and skin. This could be the premise of a movie demonstrating the reasons people should stop eating meat, as Daniel argues in his essay.
